A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Love this place. Had fried pork chops, fried chicken and meatloaf. Food is always good and fresh."
"Ok- so first of all, I am ashamed as many years (30) my husband and I have drove through Crockett and never got off the beaten path. We stopped to get gas as we normally do and didn't want the limited amount of places between 19 & hwy 21. Looked up cafe's near me and this little gem was rated 5 stars. Perhaps locals and passerby's. It was in town past the square and was open until 3 on Sundays. 1.6 miles from the loop. The parking is a bit rickity, but we were treated like family once inside. We ate the buffet which on that day consisted of the best fried chicken (which I could not say no to). Mouth watering tender Salisbury steak smothered in brown gravy that would rival with my Granny's back in the day! Sorry Granny. Veggie options were white new potatoes (baked potato style) in white gravy. Homeade mashed potatoes with white or brown gravy. Greens southern style, green beans, black eyed peas, among other veggies. They had corn bread muffins & yeast rolls. The salad bar had all the usual suspects you would expect and fresh. Your choice of salad dressing, not from a bottle. Dessert was the best pineapple cake although I was surprised it wasn't lemon or the yellow sheet cake. White cake with strawberry icing. Drinks are fountain drinks and sweet southern tea, unsweet and coffee. You can order off the menu and we did not see child plates but they are available as well. I did not get the owners name, but she came to our table with a big smile twice. A big thank you to her and her attentive staff. We will definitely be back. I hope this review helps you if you are ever in East Texas. Cheers! Angie"
"Great food at a great value... Hometown cooking at its best. A good family owned business with that small town feeling and friendliness. Breakfast is always my favorite here, and it doesn't really matter what you order it is great. The service is always friendly and welcoming. It has a great small town feeling because the staff always knows you by name and remembers your favorite meals."
"Tried this new place in Crockett after the old one had closed down. It has been cleaned up inside. They have a buffet or order off the menu. The service was great. The food tasted great like a home cooked meal. I got the fried chicken and it was some of the best I've ever eaten. The buffet has three main dishes, sides, salad bar, and dessert. This place is definitely worth checking out."
"OK...I almost want to keep this to myself because I go there regularly. It's like going back in time. Real food done really well. Delicious. Clean. Sweet, caring staff. Home style cooked all you can eat buffet. Real mashed potatoes. Everything is real. Nothing instant. This place is real Texas. I love it."
"Homestyle American country cooking. Friendly waitresses and staff. Great flavor and variety on all you can eat bar."
